MENTAL HEALTH WEEKEND
Posted in Media Releases
A new partnership between FRINGE WORLD Festival and Lifeline WA will take form this weekend with the inaugural Mental Health Weekend.
From the 22-24 January, FRINGE WORLD will be raising funds and awareness for Lifeline WA to support the vital work they do in the Western Australian community.
Audiences will be able to donate to Lifeline WA when purchasing a ticket at a FRINGE WORLD Box Office, on the website or app. There will also be donation points at all bars in The Woodside Pleasure Garden and Girls School.
FRINGE WORLD will be profiling Lifeline WA’s services to our audiences, and hopefully keep more people safe from suicide this year.
ARTRAGE CEO Sharon Burgess said that she was proud to be partnering with Lifeline WA.
“FRINGE WORLD is an event that brings people from across our community together, and Mental Health Weekend will be a terrific opportunity to support Lifeline WA, as they do so much for the WA community.” Ms Burgess said.
“In 2020, Lifeline WA received a record number of calls due to COVID-19, and continued to work tirelessly to support the community. I could not think of a more worthy organisation to partner with.”
Lifeline WA CEO Lorna MacGregor said the organisation is delighted with this unique partnership.
“It’s important to raise awareness of help that is available for those dealing with mental health challenges or thoughts of suicide.
Raising funds and awareness through the FRINGE WORLD festival will go a long way to encouraging our fellow Western Australians to reach out and seek help when they need it.”
