This show has a lot of energy and a good moral compass, anyone who likes pop culture, politics and comedy should definitely check it out!

The team behind YAAAS KWEEN are clearly here with the pure intention of both delivering a night of laughs and a relevant teaching moment that taps into the social zeitgeist significantly.

Only The Human presents a show that taps into the cultural moment through creative and intriguing skit comedy. Each scene works to represent a socio-political issue that’s relevant to our time and mixes and mashes it with absurd and whacky skits that employ humour to make some valid and thought-provoking commentary.

The energy from each performer was intense from the get-go and demonstrated a sense of fun which drew audiences in immediately and made it difficult to avert one’s eyes. Littered with pop culture references, YAAAS KWEEN will delight anyone who prides themselves on keeping their finger on the pulse of latest news and world events.

Though humour and comedy was an excellent mode of delivery for this act to navigate topics that can often be heavy and grim, the jokes and bits fell short on occasion through no fault of the performers. Where the humour fell short, the message picked up the slack. There was never a point whilst watching where I felt confused or unsure of the point.

It was clear that every performer brought their absolute most; my personal favourite standouts for me were Ariel Tresham who had excellent comedic timing and Amri Mrisho who has an engaging stage presence.

There were moments with incredible force behind them which had every member of the audience in stitches and if I had to sum up the show in a short phrase I’d say, ‘it was pithy and witty at its strongest, honest with a lot of potential at its weakest’. With a small amount of tweaking and refining this show could be one of the greats!
