"Does pleasure come from inside out, or outside in?"

Pursuit is a wave of emotions performed beautifully by dancers with range so fluid it captivates every one of your senses.

The exploration of what "pleasure" means to us each as individuals was explored through quaint movements, jarring movements, humorous movements - there was a movement for each way you might experience pleasure and it was seamless.

The show began with some moody, deep red lighting; matching the outfits of the women dancing. Then, like a flash, the lighting changed and the dancers were among us, bringing us into their space. The room was set in the shape of a horse shoe, allowing the audience to feel closer to the show. The use of the room was economical and a breath of fresh air. We were immersed in each stage of the pursuit of pleasure.

All the dancers were beyond capable and mesmerizing to watch. Each demanded your attention and the fluidity of the show provided for this need, with equal turns of each being in the spotlight.

The composer did a wonderful job setting the mood for the choreography; with a mix of whimsical and heavy tones. The anecdotes woven in were funny or relatable and added to the story line perfectly. The dancing and the music really were exclusive to each other - one did not work without the other. It was a magnificent partnership.

This was the first show I have seen that began with a Welcome to Country, too. This was important, necessary and a pleasure to watch. It put the show in a good light from the get go.

By the time Pursuit ended, it was unbelievable to think the time had passed so quickly. A huge round-of-applause was awarded to the fantastic dancers, who were humble after a performance that would warrant them to be far from it.

This is a must see.
