Back for its 14th season at Perth Fringe, Briefs once again delivers sass, sexy moves, jaw-dropping acrobatics, and plenty of laughs.

This was my third Briefs show, and it’s safe to say the performances just keep getting funnier, raunchier, and more spectacular. This year even included a touch of full-frontal nudity—not that I was complaining!

One of my favourite moments was a sequence featuring four of the drag and burlesque performers displaying their talents. One dazzled with handstand tricks, another mesmerised with a hula hoop, a third twirled a baton with flair, and the fourth sprinted on a treadmill as a wind machine nearly swept her costume completely off. By the end, all four performers took the stage together, combining their acts in a synchronised, high-energy finale. It was pure magic.

Another standout act saw a performer using an enormous hula hoop—large enough to encase his entire body. As the hoop spun around the stage, he performed jaw-dropping tricks, including flipping upside down, all perfectly timed to the music.

BRIEFS was emceeed by the Director of the show, the glamourous Fez Faanana. She had us in tears of laughter as she cracked jokes and made sure the show ran seamlessly. I had to giggle when she said she’d come from Samoa to perform, while her parents thought she’d moved to Perth to play rugby.

Faanana pulled a woman from the crowd to enjoy a lap dance from the entire cast and the expressions on this woman’s face were priceless. Let’s just say… she certainly got her money’s worth! Her adult daughter was watching on from the crowd, which made it all the more hilarious.

After three Briefs shows, my expectations were high, and Jealousss exceeded them in every way. If you’re looking for a sexy, gender-fluid showcase of brilliance, this is the Fringe show to see. Trust me, you’ll be green with envy if you miss it.

BRIEFS: Jealousss is running every day of Fringe, except Mondays and Tuesdays.
