For 22.1.25, Nola was the absolute worst. Old and disgustingly unfunny. Minus 1 out of 10 for her, however the Irish host Mark was on fire. Real shame about border security letting Nora through.

I was initially drawn to this show by its title, and further intrigued by its concept, which is loosely based on the internationally syndicated television program, Border Security.

Border Security: Australia’s Punch Line, see’s Irish comedian and host Mark O’Keefe theoretically patrol our borders, as four of his fellow comics (representing Ireland, Australia, Kenya, and the United States of America ) try to win the audience over with their gags.

All in an effort to gain entry to the country and avoid deportation. Why is an Irishman in charge of such an undertaking, and why and how is an Australian facing the boot from his own country? Well, that I could not tell you. But trust me, it works.

This is a really fun show, which feels intimate and relaxed. Plus, each performer brings something unique, interesting, and funny to the stage, along with a few titbits of interest from their country of origin, and their personal life.

Meanwhile, Mark O’Keefe’s energetic and jovial style, allows him to put the audience at ease and interact with the crowd in a non-intimidating way, eliciting hilarious banter and encouraging the more timid among us to get involved. The show’s concept does lend itself best to a large (or at least a very boisterous) audience though.

So, grab yourself a ticket, and take your mates along with you, to help keep our borders secure.
