PG Hits is not specifically for kids. Most of the jokes are adult-oriented, albeit tame enough for children to enjoy. But the potential for actual adult enjoyment is what makes it the perfect family-friendly show.

MC Ollie Horn warmed up the crowd with playful banter, creating a surprisingly wholesome back-and-forth exchange with young audience members. Quick-witted and personable, Ollie was the perfect host, with anecdotes and tidbits ranging from copyright law to train-toilets-debacles.

The first comedian opened with stories about suspicious squirrels, handy-dandy theft tips, literal poetics, and the terrifying torture of a well-known tank engine. The second comedian dove into a set about quitting smoking and dating older men, while the third specialised in detailing drunken antics and describing prolific parental farts. Young children might not have a frame of reference for all the jokes, but the delivery of each set was so good, that amusement was palpable across all demographics.

PG Hits provides the perfect introduction for an audience new to stand-up, which can include, but isn’t exclusive to, children.
