I‘ve said it once, and I’ve said it again; there simply aren’t enough FRINGE WORLD shows with unicorn strip teases!
Melbourne-based circus outfit, Head First Acrobats are back at FRINGE WORLD Festival with their show Railed; a western-themed combination of acrobatics, comedy, juggling, magic, aerial, and just a touuuuuuch of eroticism.
With a name like ‘Railed’ you might think it’s safe to assume that this show might get a little *spicy*. Safe to say those assumptions are correct – this is NOT one for the whole family unless you want some awkward conversations with your kids on the car ride home. You have been warned!
The show starts with four hunky cowboys riding onto the stage on hobby horses, whooping and hollering to rev up the crowd before a comedic and drunken shoot-out which ends with one of the gun-slingers losers unfortunately (and realistically!) losing his lunch. Was not expecting that!
What I was expecting from the Head First Acrobats team however was feats of incredible physical strength and dedication and I was not disappointed; gravity-defying performance with the Cyr Wheel, handstands atop a trembling tower of chairs, sensual and spectacular aerial rope performances; this show has it all.
Each performer has enough charm, charisma and cheekiness to be doing the show solo. So, you can imagine how well the boys play off each other throughout the performance. Not to mention the incredible balance, concentration, and strength required for the stunning stunts they performed that kept the audience spellbound.
The running gags throughout the show are as impressive as their death-defying feats. You can tell the gang is having a great time on stage, taking out the audience with cheeky tricks and jokes peppered throughout the show. Also, it certainly doesn’t hurt that the guys are objectively hot and have no problem letting you know about it. Thank goodness the venue has air-conditioning because these guys are smoking!
Railed is a wild ride and perfect for adult lovers of comedy and circus, so giddy up and get your tickets before they mosey on out!
