Burlezque is Normal is weird in all the right ways!

Everyone’s favourite queer entertainers are back to show you how to let your freak flag fly in this years FRINGE WORLD Festival with their 2023 offering; Burlezque is Normal. With an all-star cast of perfect performers this is not a show you want to miss.

Hosted by the effervescent Ginger LaMinge, the all singing, all dancing multi-talented bunch of weirdos take you on a hilarious, enthralling and captivating journey exploring what on earth ‘normal’ even is in this day and age. Burlezque is Normal is part burlesque, part queer education but all parts are heart-warming, thought provoking and will have you begging for more.

With performances from some of Perth’s best burlesque talents there really is something for everyone, no matter what your weird fetish is (even knees!). Familiar faces include shape shifting, gender bending Bobby Knox who will make you want a career in construction after their number, Veruca Sour whose signature camp burlesque style is always a crowd favourite, Fae Salem’s performance is so poignant and moving I don’t think I blinked throughout the whole number.

Self-described cabaret gremlin Sven Ironside’s performance of Bette Davis Eyes is the standout of the show. Absolutely absurd, entirely hilarious and strangely sexy I was still raving about it the whole way home. With the whole troupe If you only see one show this week, it needs to be Burlezque is Normal. Because they sure as hell aren’t, and when the absurdity of life is this weird, why on earth would you want to be?!
