An impressive late-night show that ticks all the Fringey boxes: drag, circus, burlesque, magic and… sandwich fetishes? This Melbourne-based troop is back in Perth for their newest show that is certainly worth watching to end your evening or as a prequel to your night out at the longest running LGBTQIA+ nightclub in the Southern hemisphere just up the road ;)

The hilarious MC, Valerie Hex, introduces each act with witty remarks about Perth’s queer scene (they’ve definitely done their homework!) and teaches us the true meaning of our favourite acronyms. There’s fire spinning, saucy stripping, somewhat questionable magic and daredevil dance routines that maintain the energy throughout and literally make you say, “What. The. Fudge?!”

The highlight of the night was, without a doubt, Jarred Dewey. This 6-foot man in 6-inch heels is the most impressive circus performer I think I’ve ever seen - and I’ve been reviewing shows for a few years now! He expertly launches himself onto his trapeze with great strength, flexibility and grace. He holds himself into positions I didn’t know were humanly possible all whilst simultaneously lip-syncing and not losing a single beat. If you’re not sure about the other elements of the show, make the effort and grab a ticket just to see this guy. He’s absolutely, positively incredible and I for one can’t wait to see what he’s in next.

All in all this is a great show with fantastic performers. Each one dominates the stage with the cool confidence that comes with living for your art, or perhaps that’s just the cocky confidence that comes from Melbourne? Either way, a fabulous way to spend your night after a few cocktails!
