Funny man Jez Watts aka Jez White-Rice Supreme knows how to get a crowd cackling with laughter and howling in hysterics. His mix of painful, dirty and obscene anecdotes left the audience recoiling in awe while equally enticing them for more.
What makes his jokes and stories shine is the authenticity and brutal honesty they are delivered with, packed with vivid imagery and raw detail, it's hard not to feel the sincerity they carry, making it all the more hilarious, and certainly worth your time.
The blend of dark, satirical and proper naughty comedy does wonders to bolster his drug-fuelled and sexual encounter stories fittingly, leaving you on the edge of your seat as more outrageous details spill out.
The jokes might have not always been the most relatable but they definitely didn’t have to be, as it was already laugh out loud humour being taking on a journey through some of Jez’s most memorable and probably traumatic life experiences. It was a refreshing insight into a wild life that left me feeling a tad relieved knowing I hadn’t screwed up so bad as of yet.
Despite it being a mid-week Wednesday night, the turn-out was good and the intimate venue was full-up, meaning there was bound to be some crowd interaction.
Alas, Jez demonstrated an amazing ability to handle members of the audience, even when they on occasion got a bit too frustrating. He gave them comedic jabs and was very fast and witty in his replies or improvisational humour when it was necessary. I thought this was a cool unscripted component of the show that displayed some of his natural and situational comedy. Judging by the laughs, the audience was loving it too.
Do yourself a favour - grab a friend, your mother or even just any man and his dog and bring them down to this see this show. It's undoubtedly true laughs will be involved and everyone’s going to have a great time. So, what are you waiting for? That job at Ikea won't keep you happy forever.
