You could see why this show is already an award-winner. The Best of Africa was the best of nights. Smart. Positive. Fresh. And very very funny.
Before the audience was even properly sat down, Joe White had us loosened and lulled into laughter - arranging where people sat, getting to know us, making us forget the world outside. He created a room where everyone felt relaxed and connected, then happy for the whole night.
Joe White and his fellow Perth comedians Chief Kosseh, Chris Pucillo and Emo Majok kept the laughs coming thick and fast. Stories about growing up African in the suburbs of Perth, families, beloved Mums, loves and lives. It was a hilarious kaleidoscope of comedy where Girrawheen and Coles Mirrabooka got about as much air time as Ethiopia and Sierra Leone.
The Best of Africa is a show full of energy, charm and joy. It has you grinning from before you even sit down, then for hours after.
