If ever there was a show that truly lived up to its name, it’s this one! Matt Storer, a regular in the Perth comedy scene, openly confesses that he had waaaay too much time in lockdown. But instead of binging on mindless series or slowly killing innocent indoor plants like the rest of us, he put that time to good use and has come out of it with something… brilliant?
Entertaining and amusing, this little weirdo has written fifteen songs which are chosen by dubious audience members who have dobbed each other in. After nervously deciding which song category they’d like to hear, the audience is serenaded with catchy, sexy tunes that each have rhyming, comedic lyrics that are far too relatable.
Storer is a natural performer who effortlessly switches between headbanging rock’n’roll to deep, powerful ballads to seductive R&B beats - all with dance moves to match! Listen carefully to the lyrics of each song, however, and you’ll hear that no matter the genre, Storer is still a big goofball on the inside.
One-man-show turned fifty-man-show with the audience’s help, you’ll leave knowing your fellow patrons’ names and have a deeper sense of community. A shared harmonious experience… or perhaps a shared sense of bewilderment as you leave baffled not knowing exactly what to make of that last hour of your life. But alas!
You have much fun, you laugh, you cringe, and you unwillingly confess that you can relate to more than just a few of Storer’s bizarre observations. An hour very well spent.
