This show is burlesque at its best, rich with imagination, humour, feminine power and more curves than the Mitchell and Graham Farmer Freeway interchange. The beauty of burlesque is that there is no limit to what the imagination of the performers can bring to the stage. In this case, producer Whisky A'More chose the theme of interpreting several of the major Arcana card of the Tarot, rich with history and symbolism.

What was wonderful was how each of the performers interpreted the cards such as the Magician, the Tower, the Sun, the Devil, the Lovers, Justice and the Fool (among many). Stunning costume (always down to the pasties and g-string of course), witty and inventive use of music, very witty interpretations of the cards that make sense even as they appear to go a long way from the card itself. But that's the joy: you really don't know what you're going to get next. You have to sit there with a big smile on your face, cheer, clap 'til your hands hurt and be sorry that it's all over so soon.

If Perth isn't the burlesque centre of Australia, then I don't know what makes a centre. So, rush and get your tickets to see Whisky A'More, Kitty Litteur, Fifi Fontaine, Madame Demi Diva, Smokey LaBare, Amy Darling and more while you can; celebrate their artistry, imagination and goddess-ness. I in no way want to single out anyone, but can I just say that Perth's quadruple threat Kiara Macri did a stunning job as the Fool or Court Jester/MC. Highway to Hell as a Shakespearean soliloquy?
